Martindale PD240 Pocket Sized Proving Unit
The Martindale PD240 is a pocket-sized, battery-powered 240 V DC proving unit which is limited to a current of 2 mA. This makes it suitable for use with digital multimeters and many two pole voltage testers that have an input impedance greater than 120 kΩ. The PD240 is actuated by microswitch when the probes of a voltage indicator or test leads of a multimeter are inserted into the probe apertures on its front face. An LED adjacent to the probe apertures indicates when the unit is powered. The body of the proving device is made out of flame retardant ABS. It is flush mounted so is stable when used on flat surfaces.
