Hirose FunctionMAX FX30B 3.81 mm Board to Board Connectors

FunctionMAX FX30B 3.81 mm board to board connectors with a unique floating structure that absorbs mounting misalignment errors in applications where multiple stacking connectors are used. The contacts of are designed to offer a degree of play during mating of +0.3 mm in the XY directions and 1 mm in the Z direction. The floating contacts self-centre in both the X & Y direction and absorb misalignment errors ensuring safe and accurate mating. This floating feature also eliminates stress caused by mounting placement errors preventing solder cracking and the need for corrective rework. Large mating guides on either side of the FX30B header engage with the ribs on the receptacle for a secure connection. These moulded guide posts also allow for an alignment movement of ±1.3 mm in the XY directions making mating easier and preventing incorrect insertion. An extra six keys around the mating face of these FX20 connectors also help to prevent reverse insertion. Metal fittings are featured either side of these FX30B connectors for robust, secure fixing to the PCB. These metal fittings also provide resistance against deformation in up, down, left and right directions. The contacts of these FX30B connectors have a high current capacity of 13-17A per pin. The FX20 receptacle connectors contain gold plated contacts and have a multi-point structure with four independent points of contact for increased contact reliability. These FX30B board to board connectors have a two-step contact timing sequence that results in a low insertion/extraction force.
